Golf Events and Information - 2019

Danny Bradley - Wednesday, 6 February 2019

Please find included details for golfing events and information across the district for 2019. Details contained in these may change if Clubs amend events or add to them, please keep an eye on this website and our Facebook Pages.

For any male golfers interested all you need to do is two things:

  1. fill out a form (including identification) so we know who you are and how to contact you, and we can let you know when events are on,
    and after that
  2. play golf at events around the district (usually Club Opens and the FNQ Golf Championships). There are no extra costs associated with playing except the event fees at Clubs.

For events and information for female golfers, please contact the FNQ District Ladies Golf Association at the following:

Golfer of the Year

  • This is a player participation series where points are awarded to golfers for playing particular events. (Full details in the attached handbook).

Selection Series

  • The Gross Selection Series is run in conjunction with the events as outlined above in the Golfer of the Year; however your Gross scores are used to give a playing average. Again there is no cost to participate in the series except the Club/FNQ event competition fees. The 4 players with the best average are selected to represent the FNQ district at the Qld Inter Association in November 2019. Due to age restrictions of the Inter Association, Juniors are not able to be considered. This series is aimed at low marker golfers (must be off a handicap of 10.4 or less to play the Inter Association)
  • The Nett Selection Series is run in conjunction with the events as outlined above in the Golfer of the Year; however your Nett scores are used to give a playing average. Again there is no cost to participate in the series except the Club/FNQ event competition fees. The 4 players with the best average are selected to represent the FNQ district at the Qld Country Week Championships in February 2020. There is no restriction on participation for this series (Under and Over 18 Year Golfers are able to qualify). This series is aimed at all golfers but scores are based around handicap/nett results.

Yes there are some conditions and acknowledgements involved and they are outlined in the handbook, this includes also what events and support there are for Junior Golfers in the district. So if you are a Junior Golfer, you actually get a couple of more representative opportunities than the Over 18 Golfers.

See the Resources - Player Info section for all the latest information / downloads

Please consider nominating, and also sharing with your golfing partners, Golfer of the Year and Selection Series provides FNQ Golfers the opportunity to represent their district and at the same time playing and supporting golf clubs throughout the FNQ district.
